Dolmabahçe Palace
Dolmabahçe Palace, which was the Presidential Residence of Atatürk in Istanbul after the proclamation of the Republic, has a special importance in the history of the Republic as it is the place where Atatürk died on November 10, 1938.
The main structures of Dolmabahce Palace are; Harem, Mabeyn, Clock Tower and Dolmabahce Mosque. There are 285 rooms and 46 halls, 6 baths and 68 toilets in the palace.
The rooms around the Blue Hall and the Pink Hall in the Harem section of the Dolmabahce Palace are called the Hünkar Apartment.
Atatürk also stayed in Room 71, located between the Blue Hall and the Pink Hall, in the Private Apartment and passed away here. The clock showing five past nine, which is still in this room, is still in place.
The bedroom in the other corner of the living room, facing the sea, is occasionally attended by one of Atatürk's historical advisors, Prof. Dr. Used by Afet Inan. Ideas and consultation tables are usually set up in the Blue Hall, and in the summer months, on the balcony in the Pink Hall.
In addition, an elevator was built for Atatürk in June 1937 in the bright area of the Blue Hall, which is still in use.

Basilica Cistern
The "Million Stone" of the Basilica Cistern, which was used to calculate the distance of world cities from Istanbul during the Byzantine period and shows the zero point, was transformed into a touristic object after environmental monitoring.
Opposite Hagia Sophia and right next to the Basilica Cistern, the place where the obelisk from the Byzantine period is located has served as the zero point used in calculating the distances of world cities from Istanbul.
Also known as the Million Stone, the obelisk was the starting point of the Via Egnatia, Rome's main road from the Adriatic to Constantinople.
Although most people pass by, few know what it is and few realize it.
According to a legend, Medusa is one of the three Gorgonas, the female monster of the underworld in Greek mythology. Medusa, the snake-headed of these three sisters, has the power to turn her ministers into stone.
According to one view, Gorgona paintings and sculptures were used to protect large structures and private places at that time, and therefore the head of Carnica Medusa was placed.
